ABOUT US The Farmington Hills, MI site was established in 2005. Our 50,000 square foot facility employs approximately 150 team members. Our site focuses primarily on plasma spray coating (HA, TPS) in the spine and large joint for orthopedic implants that enable a longer, active life. SHIFT DET - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan) A BRIEF OVERVIEW The Operations Tech, Utility performs operations, conducts in-process inspections per specifications, and prepares product for coating. This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations and works with a team of Operations Technicians and Quality Control Inspectors. WHAT YOU WILL DO Prepare product surface for coating, which includes cleaning, marking and masking. Perform utility operation by spraying binder and beads on the product surface using brushes and other hand tools. Repeat this process multiple times on each product to achieve specifications. Inspect product per specifications visually. Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications Completes all required training. Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product. Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Follow designated safety rules and regulations. Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives. Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required. Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead. Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor. Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
