AI Security Detection Engineer - Remote (EST) Optomi, in partnership with a Fortune 500 global multi-industry enterprise, is looking to add an AI Security Detection Engineer to their team! As the AI Security Detection Engineer, you will play a critical role in securing the organization's rapidly expanding AI ecosystem. You'll design and build detection capabilities for AI-related threats, investigate emerging security risks, and develop automated response workflows that protect enterprise AI platforms, LLMs, and sensitive data. This is a hands-on opportunity to work at the forefront of AI security while partnering with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to shape the future of enterprise AI defense. What You'll Do • Design and implement detection logic for AI-specific threats, including prompt injection, model misuse, adversarial attacks, API abuse, and unauthorized AI usage. • Build monitoring, alerting, and response capabilities for AI platforms and LLM-enabled applications. • Develop custom detections, dashboards, and queries within SIEM platforms. • Investigate AI-related security incidents and perform root cause analysis. • Create automation and response workflows using Python and modern security tooling. • Leverage CrowdStrike technologies to strengthen AI detection and response capabilities. • Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) initiatives protecting enterprise data. • Research emerging AI attack techniques and contribute new detection use cases. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and security teams to improve the organization's AI security posture. What We're Looking For • 3+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, Incident Response, or Security Operations. • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel, QRadar, or Chronicle. • Experience building custom detection rules, security content, dashboards, and threat detections. • Strong Python scripting skills for automation and security workflows. • Experience performing log analysis, threat investigations, and incident response. • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and detection engineering best practices. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience securing AI platforms, LLMs, or Generative AI technologies. • Hands-on experience with CrowdStrike Falcon and AI security capabilities. • Experience with DLP, DSPM, or enterprise data protection technologies. • Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI platforms. • Knowledge of prompt injection, adversarial AI, model abuse, or AI governance concepts. • Experience securing cloud environments within AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, or GCIA.
