This is a full-time onsite role based in Burlington, TX. 5 days/week onsite in Burlington are expected/required. About the Team: OpenAI, in close collaboration with our capital partners, is embarking on a journey to build the world’s most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem. The Stargate team is central to this mission, setting the core infra strategy and implementing this vision. From site selection to the buildout process, this team sits at the intersection of commercial, technical, strategy, and operations, interacting with teams and executives inside and outside of OpenAI. About The Job OpenAI’s Stargate team is delivering the AI infrastructure of the future. To ensure flawless operational integration of our data centers, we are seeking a BMS / Controls Coordinator for the Burlington, TX site. This role bridges mechanical, electrical, and IT systems—ensuring controls infrastructure, software logic, and instrumentation are designed, installed, and commissioned correctly In This Role, You Will Coordinate installation and integration of Building Management System (BMS), EPMS, and related controls networks. Review and verify control sequences, IO lists, and network architecture for accuracy and functionality. Oversee field wiring, panel installations, and point-to-point testing with the GC and controls subcontractor. Track controls submittals and ensure alignment with design revisions and commissioning requirements. Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), software version control, and trend-log validation. Partner with the commissioning team through IST to verify system performance and reporting integrity. Coordinate with OpenAI’s operations and software teams to ensure handover readiness. You Might Thrive In This Role If You Have 8+ years of experience in BMS or controls integration for data centers or critical facilities. Understand both mechanical and electrical system interactions and have hands-on commissioning experience. Are detail-driven, collaborative, and comfortable troubleshooting controls and network issues in the field.
