Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Thrift Store Manager to oversee daily operations of our nonprofit retail thrift store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory control, and driving sales growth. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a passion for community engagement. The Thrift Store Manager will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. This position will report to the Executive Director. Responsibilities • Lead and supervise store staff and volunteers, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service. • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management. • Manage inventory control through purchasing, stocking, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales. • Implement marketing initiatives to promote store events and community involvement. • Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, policies, and updates. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized store environment. • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally to enhance customer satisfaction. • Maintain accurate sales reports, and inventory logs. • Manage shift schedules to ensure proper coverage during operating hours. • Oversee electronic storefronts. Skills • Strong leadership with proven supervisory experience in retail or similar environments. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers and engage customers effectively. • Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS operations, and retail math. • Experience in merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management. • Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and responsibly. • Skilled in employee orientation, training & development, recruiting, and team management. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently. • Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. • Knowledge of eBay, The RealReal, or other electronic platforms.
