Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated MALE Nursing Assistant or Caregiver to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health environments. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for individuals in need of care. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to all regulatory standards. Responsibilities • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. • Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff. • Provide personal care services including cleaning, meal preparation, and cooking as needed. • Support patients with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. • Engage in patient observation to ensure safety and comfort, particularly for those with developmental disabilities or memory-related conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia. • Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals and assist with medication administration as directed. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient’s living space to promote a healthy environment. • Foster positive relationships with patients while providing emotional support and companionship. • Document patient care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications • Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or long-term care settings is preferred. • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. • Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is beneficial. • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental disorders, is a plus. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients physically as needed. • A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others in their time of need. • Understanding of social work principles related to senior care is advantageous.
