About the position The Events Service Manager is a full-time position responsible for executing full-service catered events in accordance with O+O Hospitality’s unparalleled standards. This position will report directly to the Director of Events. Responsibilities • Work in collaboration with Event Management and Culinary team to plan for successful event execution • Understand and follow specific event instructions including but not limited to: menus, set-up lists, banquet event orders (BEO), contracts, room diagrams • Attend Banquet Event Order Meetings • Coordinate with Human Resources Manager to seek and hire team members for event staffing needs • Schedule and coordinate staffing needs for event execution, including set-up of the venue • Develop and provide team members with the necessary training, including customer service and serving etiquette • Coordinate all aspect of the venue set-up, including Audio/Visual and Food and Beverage needs • Direct pre-shift lineups with event staff and kitchen personnel • Supervise event service, inclusive of: captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff, by being present and active on floor throughout the shift, overseeing and assisting team members • Responsible for seeing that all side work is assigned properly and completed • Review the cleanliness of event spaces and equipment at the close of each event • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures including report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Management and Human Resources • Prepare a Captains report after each event to summarize service details, needed inventory items, successes, and areas of improvement to build on for next event • Serve as closing manager for events, being the last touch of contact for our clients • Relay any policy changes or operational changes to team members and guide them in adjusting as needed • Ensure that all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to • Deliver genuine hospitality in all aspects of work to both clients, co-workers & vendors • Direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction, the maintenance of company standards and revenue generation • Must work within and hold other accountable to company’s Core Values • Must be available on evenings and weekends • Other duties as assigned Requirements • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Toast POS and Tripleseat preferred) • English Language • Strong understanding of diverse cuisine and beverage. • At least 2+ years of off-premises or venue-based catering management experience. • Managerial experience with service staff. • Wine, Beer and Spirits knowledge. • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience • SMART Certification • Food Safety & Sanitation Certificate • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of event venues, including food and beverage areas. • Requires mobility, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. • Must be able to tolerate varying levels of stress, temperature, illumination, air quality and fatigue. • Heavy customer contact required. • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
