Company Overview Onyx Odds is a social sports prediction platform poised to shake up the world of sports. Onyx has seen immense growth in user activity and positive feedback resulting in an expansion of the team. Onyx is a venture backed startup, having raised millions in VC funding. The founder is a Harvard grad with a background at Jane Street. Onyx Odds is based in New York City with its offices in downtown Manhattan. Job Description We’re looking to add a key engineering hire to our very lean team. We are looking for someone who’s excited to work directly with the founding team to build, own, and scale the core product. As a Software Engineer, you’ll have end-to-end responsibility across the stack, significant product input, and the opportunity to shape both the technical architecture and company from day one Own projects from inception to production, including architecture decisions, implementation, and observability Collaborate directly with founders on product direction, roadmap, and prioritization Background Computer Science degree from a top university Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript, React, SQL Experience with mobile development (React Native) 3–6+ years of experience as a software engineer A background developing low-latency systems or performance sensitive applications is a plus Thrive in startup environments — you’re entrepreneurial, resourceful, and get energy from building things that users love A background or interest in sports is a plus Visa Status: We are unable to offer employment visa sponsorship for this position Benefits Meaningful equity 100% health, dental, vision premiums covered HSA and commuter benefits Location We are based in FiDi in New York City.
