Vice President, Capital Markets Operations Position Summary: The Vice President, Capital Markets Operations role is primarily responsible for non-agency and Agency transaction management from the time of trade through investor funding, including, but not limited to contract negotiations, the efficient and effective delivery of mortgage loans and the management of collateral documentation. This role involves leading a team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of mortgage transactions, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing operational processes to enhance investor satisfaction and operational efficiency. Job Functions and Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the operations delivery and collateral management teams, providing direction, support, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and engagement. Operational Efficiency: Oversee the forward and reverse mortgage investor delivery, collateral, and transaction management process, including deliveries to both agency and non-agency investors. Which entails reviewing loan sale agreements, custodial agreements, MSFTA, NDAs, client on-boarding & KYC reviews, data file creation, due diligence coordination clearing loan conditions, GSE variances, waivers & terms of business and financial requests. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Collateral Management: Ensure the accurate and timely management of collateral documentation, including the coordination and delivery of physical and electronic collateral documents in accordance with master repurchase agreements, selling guidelines, contracts, and mandatory commitments. Exception clearing, warehouse coordination, Custodian day-to-day relationships, OLIT (private label), Whole loan and EBO deal support. As well as Computershare invoice reviews. Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring robust controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets and reputation. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, document custodians, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues related to collateral delivery and documentation. This team is also responsible for trade reconciliation, which includes trade confirmations, 48hr. notice, security settlements, pair off and margin call maintenance. Performance Monitoring: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of operations delivery and collateral management processes. Provide regular reports to senior management on performance metrics and improvement initiatives. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plans, aligning operational goals with the overall business objectives. Identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage operations, with a focus on collateral management and operational delivery. Strong knowledge of mortgage lending and servicing processes, including regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Proven experience with both non-agency and agency loan delivery. Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams. Strong bias for action and experience challenging the status-quo, including previous experience with technology and global operations to maximize efficiency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to externally represent the company and present to C-Suite level critical. Ability to work cross functionally with ease and manage in a matrix reporting relationship is key. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Familiarity with mortgage technology platforms and systems, including the utilization or implementation of emerging technology to enhance operations. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives The salary range for this position is expected to be $180,000 – $200,000 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
