Role Overview We are seeking a seeking an experienced Construction / Project Manager to support owner-side delivery of capital improvement and facility projects for our local municipal client. This is a hybrid 1099 role requiring local site visits and in-person meetings. This role provides hands-on project and construction coordination support, working closely with internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are planned, executed, and closed out in accordance with established standards. The ideal candidate is a strong delivery professional who understands construction project execution from the owner’s perspective and can operate effectively in regulated, multi-stakeholder environments. Key Responsibilities Project & Construction Coordination • Support planning, execution, and closeout of capital construction and facility projects • Coordinate activities across internal teams, external consultants, and construction contractors • Track scope, schedule, milestones, risks, and dependencies; communicate issues clearly and early Construction Phase Support • Support coordination of construction activities to ensure alignment with approved plans, specifications, and requirements • Participate in field coordination, inspections, and issue resolution alongside designers and contractors • Support sequencing of work to minimize operational disruption Schedule, Budget & Project Controls • Support development and maintenance of project schedules, including milestones and dependencies • Assist with review of cost estimates, change requests, and contractor payment applications • Maintain project documentation, logs, and reporting to support transparency and accountability Permitting, Compliance & Closeout • Support preparation and coordination of permits, regulatory documentation, and required submittals • Assist with closeout activities including punch lists, final inspections, and turnover documentation • Support audits, final project reviews, and lessons-learned activities Candidates should have direct experience with multiple of the following: • Emergency generator installation/replacement • EV charging infrastructure • Fire alarm systems • Fuel tank installation/replacement • Building demolition Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree • Construction Management Experience • Greater Seattle Area Residency (must be able to travel to job sites daily) • Demonstrated experience supporting capital construction or facilities projects in an owner-side, consulting, or delivery-support role • Solid understanding of construction delivery processes, including planning, coordination, validation, and closeout • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders in complex or regulated environments • Ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and internal client teams • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills Preferred Additional Qualifications • Experience supporting public-sector, utility, or institutional capital projects • Exposure to technically complex or multi-disciplinary construction projects • Familiarity with project controls such as schedules, issue/risk tracking, and delivery reporting • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM) Additional Notes • This is an Independent Contractor Contract 1099 role targeted for 6 to 12 months • This is an owner-side role focused on coordination, delivery support, and execution oversight • Candidates should be comfortable stepping into active projects and working collaboratively within established teams How to Apply Send your resume and a brief cover letter to info@onitmc.com with the subject line: Application: Construction / Project Manager Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour Application Question(s): • Are you willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations?
