The Disability Review Specialist is responsible for proactively calling and renewing disability policyholders while making coverage recommendations. This role also involves cross-selling additional products and contributing to customer retention efforts.
Candidates should have an associate degree in business or a related field and at least one year of sales experience, preferably in the insurance industry. Basic PC skills and insurance sales experience are preferred.
The Disability Review Specialist is responsible for proactively calling, renewing, and making coverage recommendations for disability policyholders, while cross-selling additional products as directed. Meets established sales targets and other quality of business factors. Significantly contributes to customer retention efforts by establishing customer rapport through mutual trust and respect. Your Impact: Proactively places outbound calls to existing customers with disability policies within specified timeframe. Customers include those with new disability policies still within their first twelve months of coverage, and customers with disability policies that are approaching retirement age. Maximizes opportunities to upgrade the customer’s existing disability policy and cross-sell additional products to achieve sales goals. Reviews the customer’s current coverage and makes recommendations for the future. Responsible for meeting individual sales and quality of business targets. Reviews and analyzes sales reports and other data to monitor progress towards stated goals. Provides input to management to help identify opportunities to improve sales. Responds to customer inquiries and resolves problems professionally, accurately and on a timely basis. Refers questions to an appropriate resource if unable to resolve problem. Follows up regarding pending or incomplete sales transactions as needed. Participates in business retention activities as directed by management. Keeps customers informed about available products and services, pricing, and new insurance products and/or promotions. Generates periodic reports for manager summarizing results. Maintains insurance product knowledge and strives to improve selling techniques. Successful Candidates Will Have: Associate degree in business, marketing or related field. 1+ year of sales experience, preferably in the insurance industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Insurance sales and/or telemarketing experience preferred. Basic PC skills required, including spreadsheet and word processing software. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $17.31 plus additional commission plan.
