Full Description

The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will be highly-skilled and experienced. In this position, you will provide direct patient care, performing physical examinations, ordering tests, determining a diagnosis, and developing a treatment plan for the patients. You will support the doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ recovery. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement. As a physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, you will monitor your patient’s health during follow-up visits and adjust the treatment plan as necessary. Description ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Discuss symptoms with patients and perform a thorough examination • Order x-rays and lab tests and analyze them for diagnosis • Treat minor injuries and illnesses • Perform First Aid care and sutures • Administer medications and immunizations • Communicate with patients on appointment scheduling and treatment progress • Keep thorough records of all patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments • Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine • Inform physicians about any problems or discrepancies that might arise • Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions • Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events • Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures (measure blood pressure and temperature, administer injections etc) • Provide therapeutic treatments (disinfecting wounds, stitching etc.) • Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients • Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards • Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations • Perform other related duties, as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program • Must be PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination) certified through the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) • For Nurse Practitioners, current RN license, Master’s degree in nursing w/certificate in advanced practice nursing and current BLS, ACLS and PALS. • Must meet credentialing requirements including licensure, boards and current DEA. • Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics • Ability to work efficiently and independent • 1+ Proven work experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse (preferred) • Knowledge of medical guidelines and procedures regarding examination, therapy and recovery • Familiarity with advancements in medical technology and current know-how • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task • Team player with good communication skills • BSc/MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science or Medical Science Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
