5+ years in demand generation or growth marketing for early-to-mid stage SaaS, hands-on individual contributor experience, data-driven with experience in HubSpot, GA4, attribution tools, and paid ads, preferably in PE-backed companies.

If you are a SaaS or SMB Demand Gen guru with product-led growth experience ready to be the first Marketing hire, walking the line between hands-on and strategic, this Director of Demand Generation opportunity with a rapidly growing, PE-backed SaaS platform may be a fit! This Raleigh-based SaaS company has grown to nearly $10M with thousands of SMB clients, all without a sales team or paid marketing. They drove product-led growth without a sales team or any paid marketing, until now. With new funding via a private equity acquisition, they are now in serious growth mode, building out a sales and marketing team to drive top-line revenue. They need to make their first strategic marketing hire to create a scalable demand generation motion. This hands-on strategist will craft strategy, lead testing of and build their marketing mix, and build the data and attribution infrastructure from the ground up. What You’ll Be Doing: • Own and execute the full demand generation strategy from scratch • Hands-on execution - be a strategic individual contributor until you grow a team (as you scale) • Test and scale campaigns across paid, organic, social, partnerships, and email • Build and own attribution infrastructure and performance reporting (CAC, CPL, MQL conversion, ROI) • Create and manage landing pages, campaigns, and content that convert • Partner with Sales to define MQL criteria, lead routing, and feedback loops • Segment ICPs by studio size, region, and seasonality to tailor campaign strategies • Guide freelancers or agencies and own creative direction as needed • Manage the marketing budget and optimize spend across channels What You’ll Need: • Strong experience (5+yrs) in demand generation or growth marketing for early-to-mid stage software companies • Recent individual contributor experience • Experience running demand generation/lead generation for a PE-backed company under $75M • Have run cross-channel marketing campaigns and scaled pipeline in a self-serve or SMB-focused environment • Deeply data-driven: built and optimized funnels, tested CAC/LTV models, and presented ROI analyses • Hands-on experience with HubSpot, GA4, attribution tools, and paid ad platforms • Comfort working in high-autonomy, build-from-zero roles • Bonus: experience in marketplace products, product-led orgs, or SMB target customers • Bonus: photography industry familiarity • Bonus: based in Tampa or Raleigh What You’ll Get in Return: • Strong comp package: competitive base salary + bonus • Full ownership of your function in a fast-growing, PE-backed SaaS company • Full remote flexibility with preference for East Coast time zone • Ownership over a critical marketing function with clear business impact • Direct access to and mentorship from experienced executive and investor leadership • Opportunity to shape brand messaging and GTM strategy at a pivotal moment of scale If you're a demand gen strategist who can also execute, and you're ready to build something from the ground up in a high-growth SaaS environment, we want to hear from you.
