We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis to work on a Redshift migration project to Athena. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with dbt (core), AWS cloud services (Redshift, Athena), and strong communication skills. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to a high-impact project. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the platform team to migrate existing dbt pipelines from Redshift to Athena • Optimize dbt pipelines and models’ configuration for Athena • Bring your expertise to shape the data platform and ensure scalable and cost-effective implementation • Work closely with the technical lead and the product owner • Adopt and follow team’s coding, development and security standards • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in data engineering using AWS cloud (Redshift, Athena, and other services) • Understanding of data modeling with dbt on top of data lakes and data warehouses • SQL and dbt proficiency • Experience with Python to implement and support ETL pipelines • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) Nice to Have: • Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg and AWS Lake Formation • Experience with Docker
