Manage full-cycle financial operations including AP/AR, bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, reporting, and automation to support strategic decision-making.
5-8 years finance/accounting experience with controller and strategic FP&A exposure, strong accounting foundation, financial modeling skills, automation enthusiasm, and team collaboration.
Job Description: • Own AP/AR, bookkeeping, and monthly close. • Oversee invoicing, collections, cash flow, and treasury management. • Manage external accountants and ensure compliance with GAAP and tax laws. • Strengthen internal controls and approval workflows to reduce financial risk. • Continuously improve and automate financial operations using modern tools and AI workflows. • Lead company-wide budgeting and forecasting (annual, quarterly, rolling). • Build financial models for revenue and headcount. • Provide P&L visibility by service line, client, and project to identify margin opportunities. • Develop a pricing calculator and labor forecasting model to guide hiring and proposals. • Prepare and present monthly reports and dashboards with clear insights and recommendations. • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to leadership with insights and recommendations. • Track key performance metrics (e.g., gross margin, revenue per employee, utilization, client profitability). • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. • Partner with leadership to model growth scenarios and guide investment decisions. • Identify risks and opportunities to maintain healthy reserves and sustainable growth. • Build scalable systems, reports, and automations that improve speed and accuracy. Requirements: • 5–8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally with both Controller and strategic finance exposure • Strong accounting foundation, comfortable managing books, budgets, and audits end-to-end • Proven ability to analyze data, model financial scenarios, and clearly communicate insights to leadership • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen • Hands-on operator who builds efficient, scalable systems and excited about automation, AI, and modern finance tooling • Familiarity with remote team operations and international payments. • Has implemented and optimized financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, BI dashboards). • Experience in a marketing agency or professional services firm preferred. • CPA or CMA a plus, but not required. • You're not an asshole.
