About us: OMNI Flow Computers has been designing, developing, and manufacturing flow computer products to serve the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. The OMNI 3000/6000 and 4000/7000 models are installed throughout the world in most oil and gas measuring systems. They are recognized for their quality, long term reliability, ease-of-use functionality without custom programming, low-cost engineering, and performance. We have an immediate opening for a proactive Hardware Engineer to join our growing team located in Sugar Land, Texas. About the role: The Hardware Engineer will support new product development and sustain existing product lines. This role involves hardware design, documentation, troubleshooting, and testing using CAD tools, as well as generating schematics, PCB layoffs, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation. You’ll collaborate across teams, provide production support, and serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in hardware development, sustaining engineering, and process improvement, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety. This is a full-time, exempt position requiring a minimum 40-hour workweek, with extended hours necessary to meet deadlines and business needs. Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to: · Hardware design, testing, troubleshooting · PCB layout, schematic capture, BOMs, CAD documentation · Embedded systems (ARM Cortex, FPGA, CPLD, power supplies) · Protype build, assembly, debug · Production support & process improvements · Cross-team collaboration & customer interaction Candidate requirements: · B.S./M.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering · 5+ years hardware design experience · Digital/analog/mixed-signal circuit design · PCB tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad) · FPGA/CPLD (VHDL/Verilog), simulation (LTspice, PSpice) · Communications (RS-232, RS-485, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, Modbus) · Test/debug tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers) Preferred · Flow computers/industrial instrumentation · Compliance standards (RoHS, UL, CE) · DFM/DFT, lifecycle & quality systems Core Skills · Problem-solving & analytical · Communication & collaboration · Detail-oriented, quality-focused, deadline-driven Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
