Job Title: SAP Technical Project Manager (Principal Level) Location: Minneapolis, MN (Preferred) | Remote with Milestone-Based Travel Employment Type: Contract or Full-Time Careers That Change Lives We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives within Enterprise Architecture, Global Functions, and SAP organizations. This role requires a senior-level program leader who can manage large-scale SAP initiatives including system integrations, application development, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and enterprise deployments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, financial oversight capability, and executive-level stakeholder engagement experience. Role Overview: The SAP Technical Project Manager is accountable for the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects or a single complex global program. This individual will oversee scope, cost, schedule, and quality while ensuring alignment to corporate IT governance, system validation requirements, and enterprise architecture standards. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring engagement with VP-level stakeholders and executive steering committees. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Program & Project Leadership Lead global, cross-functional SAP initiatives across regional and functional organizations Manage full project lifecycle from intake through implementation and closure Direct multiple project managers to achieve program objectives Drive adherence to development lifecycle and IT engagement models Financial & Resource Management Develop project estimates, business cases, detailed work plans, and resource plans Monitor and control project budgets, financial metrics, and forecasts Manage scope, schedule, and cost constraints proactively Stakeholder & Governance Leadership Facilitate executive steering committee discussions (VP-level and above) Build strong stakeholder partnerships across matrixed organizations Provide technical and analytical recommendations to governance bodies Escalate risks and issues appropriately Risk, Quality & Compliance Develop risk mitigation strategies and manage issue resolution Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and system validation requirements Align projects with Information Protection policies and standards Institutionalize enterprise project management methodologies Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Principal Level: 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years with an advanced degree Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification Hands-on technical background (Software Development, Architecture, Systems Engineering) Proven experience leading large SAP programs in multi–System Integrator environments Experience with Workday implementations and integrations Strong experience in: Project planning (Microsoft Project) Budget and fiscal management Resource planning and forecasting Risk and issue management Change management Experience managing technical teams and business systems analysts Exposure to AI initiatives, SAP modernization, M&A integrations, and automation programs. Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
