Full Description

How to Apply To be considered for this role, please complete our application. The application is designed to help us understand your experience, how you approach your work, and what you’re looking for in your next role. About the Role O’Leary Group is hiring a Senior Finance & Operations Analyst to work directly with our Head of Finance & Operations as we continue building the financial and operating infrastructure behind a growing company. This is a finance-led role with broader exposure than a traditional analyst position. You will support financial planning, reporting, the monthly close, and core finance processes while also helping improve systems, strengthen data, and solve problems across the business. We are looking for a highly capable doer: someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable turning a clear framework into strong execution. You will work closely with the Head of Finance & Operations, learn how OLG operates, build trust through strong execution and judgment, and progressively take on more responsibility as your knowledge and capabilities grow. Accuracy and quality are especially important in this role. Much of the work will inform financial reporting, management decisions, and business processes, so we expect a high degree of care, strong QA habits, and work that can be relied upon by others. What You’ll DoFinance, Planning & Reporting • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and the company’s financial outlook • Be responsible for maintaining recurring management reporting and supporting schedules accurately and on time • Prepare and maintain financial models and supporting analysis • Help translate financial information into useful insights for leadership • Complete assigned month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and supporting schedules accurately and on time in line with the close calendar, including review of relevant bookkeeper entries and support • Work with our CPA, bookkeeper, and other external finance resources • Support and improve core working-capital processes, including AR, AP, invoicing, and collections • Support project-level financial analysis, including revenue, costs, hours, and profitability • Be responsible for identifying and escalating discrepancies, missing information, or unusual variances • Help investigate what is driving financial or operational variances and determine next steps Systems, Data & Process Improvement • Help build, document, and improve finance and business processes • Support the continued development of internal project delivery and workflow processes • Be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of assigned finance and operational data • Be responsible for completing QA checks and resolving or escalating exceptions before information is relied upon • Identify inefficient or inconsistent processes and help develop better ways of working • Support system implementations, testing, migrations, and rollouts • Use new technology, including AI-enabled tools, where it can improve how we work Business Operations & Special Projects Because OLG is growing, this role will also include opportunities outside traditional finance. You may: • Support strategic and operational projects across the business • Research and evaluate solutions to business problems • Build dashboards, models, trackers, templates, controls, and operating tools • Work directly with our project delivery team to resolve finance, data, and process-related issues • Occasionally support client billing or financial questions in coordination with the project team • Help turn new ideas or processes into repeatable ways of working • Take on new areas of responsibility as the company grows Who We’re Looking For You are analytical, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a growing environment where not every process is fully built. You care deeply about accuracy, ask good questions, and know when to move quickly versus when to slow down and validate the details. You have a strong finance foundation, are curious about how the broader business works, and take pride in producing work that is accurate, complete, and ready to be relied upon by others. How Performance Will Be Measured Success in this role will be measured by: • Accuracy and quality: Your work is complete, accurate, and reliable • Reliability: You follow through on commitments, manage deadlines proactively, and can be counted on to move work forward • Judgment: You know when to move independently, when to validate details, and when to raise a question or issue • Problem solving: You investigate issues, identify root causes, and help develop practical solutions • Communication: You communicate clearly, concisely, and proactively • Adaptability: You learn quickly, respond constructively to feedback, and adjust as systems and priorities evolve • Growth in ownership: As you build knowledge and trust, you take on increasingly complex work with less direction The expectation is not that you know everything on day one. The expectation is that your work is thoughtful, accurate, and continuously improving. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of relevant professional experience; 3–5 years is ideal • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field • Strong foundation in finance and accounting, including financial statements, reconciliations, cash flow, accruals, and the monthly close process • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial models • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities • Ability to learn new systems and concepts quickly • Willingness to be hands-on and take responsibility for execution and follow-through Experience That Would Be Particularly Valuable Experience in any of the following is a plus: • Budgeting, forecasting, or FP&A • Management reporting • Cash flow planning • QuickBooks • Smartsheet • Project-based financial reporting • Data governance or quality assurance • Process improvement • Systems implementations or migrations • Dashboarding or business intelligence • Workflow automation • AI-enabled tools • Professional services, consulting, construction, real estate, architecture, engineering, or another project-based business You do not need experience with every system we use. We care more about strong fundamentals, sound judgment, learning speed, and the ability to understand how information and processes connect. Why O’Leary Group In a larger organization, you may be responsible for one part of a much larger finance function. At OLG, you will have the opportunity to see the business more holistically and work directly with leadership. You will gain exposure to how finance connects to client delivery, systems, people, operations, and company growth. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow beyond a traditional analyst position. As you learn the business, demonstrate strong judgment, and earn trust, there is meaningful opportunity to expand your responsibility across forecasting, management reporting, finance processes and controls, systems and data, business planning, and special projects. For the right person, this role offers a potential path toward a Finance & Operations Manager position as the company and function continue to evolve.
