Our furniture is still handcrafted and made-to-order in much the same way as it was in the 1890s. Old Hickory Furniture is a slice of American history that has played a major role in the home furnishings and hospitality industry. Our products are sold primarily through our retailers and interior designers. We are a proud American company! We are seeking full time temporary employees with the possibility of being permanently hired after 90 days (to be determined by performance and availability). This position supports the furniture production process by performing a variety of tasks, including material handling, cleaning, basic maintenance, and assisting skilled workers as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in moving raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished furniture within the production facility. • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, and waste disposal, to maintain a tidy workspace. • Support machine operators and carpenters by supplying materials and tools as needed. • Support shipping department • Load and unload deliveries of raw materials and finished furniture. • Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or issues to the supervisor. • Assist in assembling furniture parts or packaging finished products when required. • Operate hand tools and basic machinery under supervision. • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the production team. Qualifications & Skills: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is a plus. • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. • Basic knowledge of hand tools and machinery used in furniture production. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team. • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks. Work Environment: • The job involves working in a factory setting with exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery. • Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. • May involve working in varying temperatures, depending on the season.
