Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are searching for a Security Engineer to join our team. We are looking to fill this position immediately. Description A Security Engineer at Oklo is responsible for assessing, designing, and justifying the effectiveness of site security at facilities possessing special nuclear material. The work of an Oklo Security Engineer is a comprehensive role that demands a creative mindset, able to envision challenges against a security system and develop the justification of control measures that provide an adequate assurance of protection. Design and compliance of security systems responsible for the protection of special nuclear material involves a comfort with navigating U.S. nuclear regulations and guidance to produce defensible security plans against complex challenges. As a member of the greater engineering organization at Oklo, collaboration is a necessity. In the realm of security, significant breadth and appetite for understanding system interdependency is a must for security specialists expected to justify adequate protective strategies across a nuclear facility of interrelated systems. About Oklo compensation: Salary: $70,000-$150,000 Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience. Preferred Location: Santa Clara, CA About Oklo Inc.: Oklo Inc. is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale; establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to convert nuclear waste into clean energy. Oklo was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant, was awarded fuel material from Idaho National Laboratory, and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Oklo is also developing advanced fuel recycling technologies in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. National Laboratories.
