POSITION: Public Health Medical Billing Consultant DESCRIPTION: The Ohio Public Health Association (OPHA) Public Health Professional Services (PHPS) program is seeking medical biling consultants for a variety of public health part-time, temporary, short-term, and/or seasonal positions. Positions are flexible and would be a great fit for retired professionals, individuals looking for part-time work, or professionals desiring a project or two. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: · Revise, correct, and code medical charges into the billing system. Enters/updates medical charges into billing system. Addresses and resolves billing discrepancies with third party providers. · Training medical billers Consultants may fill in while a position is vacant or while an employee is on medical leave. Consultants will be placed on a roster of contractors that may be selected based on an agency’s needs. Positions may be on-site, remote, or hybrid. If the consultant matches with a need, the consultant will be notified via email. Consultants will review the assignment details and accept or decline the offer. The number of assignments available or likelihood of assignments will depend on how closely your skills and qualifications match the agency’s request.
