Full Description

This position is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended and/or become permanent. Under general direction of the Chief Information Officer (Information Technology Manager II), the incumbent will perform a wide variety of information security-related tasks and responsibilities requiring innovative problem-solving, optimizing and applying architecture solutions in the department’s Microsoft environment and technological systems, and advising management on information security strategy and policy. This will include analyzing and responding to security alerts received from cybersecurity systems and tools. Incumbent will typically work in the Information Security Engineering and System Engineering domains. This position is headquartered in Sacramento, California and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for applicants residing in California, in accordance with Government Code Section 14200 and the Department’s current telework policy. A hybrid schedule typically includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office a minimum of two days per week; however, the specific number of in-office days and the overall telework schedule are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Department based on operational needs, policy changes, or direction from State leadership. Employees may be required to report to their designated work location with minimal notice. Telework does not alter the terms and conditions of employment, essential job functions, or compliance with departmental policies. The reporting location for this position is the California Natural Resources Agency Building located at 715 P Street, 15th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.
