Role Overview: As a Patient Access Representative in the Chabert Emergency Department, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and compassionate registration process. Your role is vital in facilitating patient access to emergency services while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. What You'll Do: - You will greet and register patients efficiently and courteously upon arrival. - You will verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accurate records. - You will assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation. - You will coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate timely patient care. - You will manage patient data entry and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - You will handle patient inquiries and provide clear information about hospital services. - You will support billing and insurance processes by accurately capturing required data. - You will work a rotating schedule including weekends, following the seven days on/seven days off shift pattern. What You Bring: - You bring at least 2 years of experience in patient registration or healthcare administration. - You have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. - You possess proficiency in healthcare software systems and data entry. - You demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially. - You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in an emergency department or urgent care setting. - Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes. - Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, to assist a diverse patient population. - Certification in Patient Access or related healthcare credentials.
