We are seeking a visionary Web Developer / Designer to lead a remote team in designing and developing a state-of-the-art SaaS platform, Example of website solutions like: Parcelpath.com,Shippo.com, ShippingEasy.com, Pirateship.com, easyship.com, to deliver seamless shipping, logistics, and subscription-based services. 3xShipping Differentiators: Job Overview: The Web Developer / Designer will drive the creation of a scalable, secure, and intuitive SaaS platform tailored for shipping and logistics, managing a fully remote engineering team. The platform will feature real-time shipping rate calculations, carrier integrations, label generation, and subscription-based services, rivaling other platforms. This role requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise, experience in e-commerce or SaaS platforms, and a passion for revolutionizing the shipping industry. Key Responsibilities: • Platform Development: Lead the design and development of a SaaS platform with core features including real-time shipping calculations, multi-carrier integrations (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS), label printing, and subscription management. • Remote Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing, off-site engineering team, ensuring effective collaboration, clear communication, and timely delivery across global time zones. • Technical Architecture: Define and implement the technology stack, cloud infrastructure, and microservices architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability. • API & Integrations: Oversee integration with shipping carrier APIs (e.g., USPS Web Tools, FedEx, UPS), payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), and develop a public API for third-party integrations. • Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to industry standards for data security (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) and maintains 99.9% uptime for users. • Innovation: Leverage modern technologies (e.g., AI for rate optimization, cloud-native solutions) to enhance platform functionality and user experience. • Strategic Alignment: Partner with the CEO to align technical development with 3x Shipping Company’s goals for customer growth and revenue generation. Qualifications: • Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role building SaaS or e-commerce platforms. • Technical Expertise: • Proficiency in modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails). • Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture. • Expertise in API development, secure payment systems, and database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). • Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes). • Domain Knowledge: Proven experience with shipping, logistics, or subscription-based SaaS platforms. • Remote Leadership: Demonstrated success leading remote teams, with excellent communication and project management skills using tools like Jira, Slack, or Asana. Preferred Skills: • Deep knowledge of shipping industry APIs (e.g., USPS Web Tools, FedEx, UPS). • Experience with subscription billing and recurring revenue models. • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles to create an intuitive, business-friendly interface. • Familiarity with agile development methodologies for remote teams.
