Position Type: Special Education/Special Education Teacher Date Posted: 1/9/2026 Location: Holly Area School District District: Holly Area Schools The Position Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited university and a Michigan Teaching Certificate. Special Education Certification is required, with preference of a CI or an ASD endorsement. Experience in special education is preferred. The qualified candidate will provide instruction and support to students eligible for special education at the elementary level in the Level 4 classroom. The individual will provide direct instruction for elementary school students, as well as, working collaboratively with general education teachers. The individual will assess the student's progress and keep parents updated. This individual will also develop IEP goals, chair IEPT meetings, and advocate for students on caseload. • Provide Specially Designed Instruction to meet the needs of each individual student's goals and objectives outlined in their IEP. • Schedule, attend, and conduct Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings within required timelines. • Orient the learning process toward the achievement of specific IEP goals. • Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on students' activities, including abiding by timelines, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. • Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and Essential Element State Standards. • Work collaboratively with Social Work staff in developing and implementing behavior plans. • Utilize evidence-based resources to facilitate the prescribed curriculum. • Demonstrate creativity and innovativeness in teaching styles to assist special needs students with problem solving and higher order thinking skills. • Accommodate the general education curriculum for special needs students, based upon the variety of instructional techniques and technologies. • Assist special needs students in the assessment and evaluation measures required by the district. • Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.
