Are you ready to take on a leadership role managing large, complex renovation and construction projects that shape the future of Oakland County? As a Senior Project Manager, you'll oversee everything from pre-project efforts through design to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, in compliance with governing codes, meeting the County's policies and standards, and to the highest performance expectations. You'll lead major renovation and new construction projects, including pre-project planning, design, engineering, scheduling, budgeting, implementation, and close-out. Serving as the department's representative with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and County departments, you'll handle construction administration, document and report on construction progress, and provide solutions to issues as they arise. Your day-to-day work includes preparing cost estimates, funding requests, drawings, specifications, bid documents, recommendations, reporting, and presentations. You'll manage the bidding process, awarding of contracts, and project-related purchases, while using Countywide and department-specific software to manage projects effectively. ## What Makes This Special You'll play a key role in shaping public spaces and infrastructure that serve the community. You'll collaborate with a wide range of professionals, from architects and engineers to County leaders, and your expertise will directly impact the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of County facilities. ## Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following combinations: **Option 1:** Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study, and have at least six (6) years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management. **Option 2:** Be registered as a Professional Architect or Engineer in an appropriate Architecture discipline by the Michigan State Board of Architects or Engineers, and have at least six (6) years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management. **Option 3:** Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study, and possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. **Option 4:** Have at least eight (8) years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management with PMP certification. You must possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. ## Special Requirements If you're qualifying with a Professional Engineer registration, you must maintain registration with the Michigan Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. If qualifying with a Professional Architect registration, you must maintain registration with the Michigan State Board of Registration for Professional Architects. If qualifying with PMP certification, you must maintain that certification.
