We have a ground floor opportunity for the right candidate. As a key member of our company, come grow with us, establish processes, and have some fun while doing it too! Our Project Manager/Lead Carpenters will be responsible for the overall construction of residential interior and exterior remodeling projects assigned to them. Job responsibilities include reading blueprints and contracts, understanding client requirements, leading support staff when needed, managing subcontractors, assigning tasks, possess strong knowledge of and conduct residential maintenance, repair, and remodeling work (additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, etc.). The ideal candidate would be an informed expert of all facets of residential remodeling, including masonry, plumbing, electric, and all forms of finish work. Responsibilities • Handle all day to day onsite construction activities for residential remodeling projects. • Building or managing subcontractors for residential construction, including framing, roofing and skylights, siding, door and window installation, insulation, drywall, flooring and tile, cabinetry and precision trim installation. • Perform as Project Manager/Lead Carpenter, managing a crew of up to three persons but may work alone. • Interact with clients to anticipate their needs, communicate well, and maintain a clean work site. • Build additions and remodeling projects directly from blue-print designs. • Utilize blueprints and complete projects with hand, power and air tools associated with carpentry. • General knowledge of masonry, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems. • Responsible for ordering and managing materials, maximizing resources, and managing work flow. • Establish relationships and manage conflict resolution with all involved parties during projects to create an agreeable working environment. • Accustomed to harsh weather conditions, heavy lifting, and physically challenging days. • Possess an enthusiastic, supportive and team-oriented work ethic. • Make Clients raving fans of our work! Minimum Qualifications • At least 5 years of full time, verifiable experience with a working knowledge of all facets of residential remodeling. Candidates can expect projects to be delegated to them but they are expected to not need direct supervision to accomplish their projects and tasks. They'll need to routinely perform layouts and supervise other workers. Good communication with Clients (and the office) is critical so the clients know what to expect in advance and are happy with the entire remodeling process while the work is being performed in their home. • Work safety awareness. • Provide basic carpentry tools. • Dependable, presentable transportation • Valid driver’s license with an excellent record (record to be verified with our insurance carrier). • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and terminology. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to fill out forms legibly. • Computer experience: fluency with mainstream software (Word and email mostly) is good to have but not a necessity. • Knowledge of safe lifting and carrying. • Adequate hearing, vision, physical ability and endurance to perform work assigned. • Can perform physical exertion typically found on construction sites including, but not limited to, carrying, lifting, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling and hauling. Able to lift 75 -125 pounds on a regular basis; regular lifting of 30-50 pounds over your head; occasionally lifting up to 125 pounds over your head. You will be expected to work inside and outside, on even and uneven surfaces, on roofs and ladders, under structures, and in other physical situations.
