Executive Director – Oak Harbor Main Street Association Position Summary The Main Street Program Executive Director provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the downtown/commercial district revitalization organization. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors and serves as the primary ambassador for the organization, advancing economic vitality through historic preservation, partnerships, and community engagement. This is a senior leadership role under the supervision of the board, responsible for guiding vision, managing staff and resources, ensuring program compliance, and supporting a vibrant downtown in collaboration with the city, businesses, volunteers, and regional and state partners. Key Responsibilities • Organizational Leadership & Governance • Program Oversight & Implementation • Financial Management & Resource Development • Administration & Compliance • Events, Marketing & Communications (Oversight) • Partnerships, Advocacy & Community Engagement • State & National Program Responsibilities Qualifications Required • Demonstrated leadership experience in nonprofit management, economic development, community development, or a related field. • Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors. • Strong financial management and budgeting skills. • Background in fundraising, grant management, or resource development. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders. Preferred • BA in Business Management, Finance, Communication or equivalent. • Experience with Main Street programs or downtown revitalization initiatives. • Knowledge of historic preservation, urban planning, or small business development. • Supervisory experience. Benefits • $68,000-$70,000 non-exempt yearly salary • 24 Flex PTO days per year • Annual Contract • No Health Insurance Core Purpose of the Role The Executive Director plays a critical leadership role in shaping the future of the downtown district and fostering a thriving, inclusive community. They are responsible for ensuring the Main Street organization functions effectively on a daily basis while advancing long-term strategic goals.
