Why we need you: We're looking for an experienced UX Design Manager to lead our growing team. This role will oversee ongoing client engagements, manage and mentor associate and UX designers, and help define design strategy across all solution deliverables. You'll balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, implementing AI tools and processes while building our design practice. This is a remote role available to applicants in Arkansas, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin. Employees who are local to O3's office (1339 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA) will work in the office on Wednesdays. Who you are: A strategic leader who can provide oversight on multiple engagements while still contributing to hands-on design execution An experienced people manager who develops consulting capabilities and builds meaningful mentorship relationships A collaborative partner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and builds strategic partnerships with other department leaders A practice builder who can help lead process improvements, implement AI workflows, and identify opportunities to expand accounts A confident communicator who excels at presenting to clients and articulates research-driven design rationale What you'll do: Lead ongoing client engagements, providing strategic oversight and hands-on execution as needed Manage and mentor associate and experience designers, helping them grow their design and consulting capabilities Produce client materials through a thoughtful and informed design process, from visual exploration to execution to delivery of UI kits, components, and annotations Communicate cross-departmentally with directors, project managers, and developers to solve challenging problems collaboratively Create paths to success with clients and identify opportunities to expand accounts Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflow and process What you need to be successful: Minimum 7 years of experience as a designer with 2–5 years managing others Degree in design, UX, or related field (or equivalent years of experience) Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX work from wireframes and prototypes to high-fidelity UI design, component libraries, and information architecture Familiarity with design systems and component-based design thinking Experience synthesizing user research into actionable design decisions and presenting work confidently to clients and stakeholders Proficiency with Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-powered design tools with an understanding of how to integrate AI into design workflows Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and full latitude for judgment Nice to have: Data analytics, UX writing, motion graphics, accessibility expertise Who we are: We are confident.
