Manager, Human Resources (Tampa, FL) Department: Human Resources Reports To: Vice President - Human Resources (in NY) Job Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Description: Built upon our storied legacy, the New York Yankees look to attract the best possible talent not just on the field but in the front office as well. The Human Resources Manager supports the Tampa operations of the New York Yankees (including their Spring Training and Player Development operations) in all areas of Human Resources, including talent management and employee relations, onboarding, compensation, and maintaining a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, professional and experienced, and able to align HR strategy and needs with the unique business objectives of a professional baseball team. Primary Responsibilities: • Serve as primary HR contact for most non-New York based employees, including by administering and enforcing various plans and procedures and responding to inquiries regarding same. • Partner across HR functions to deliver value-added service to managers, including by working with department heads to anticipate and address staffing and capability needs. • Perform all onboarding and orientation functions for full-time and part-time employees, including Spring Training/game day staff and remote employees. • Handle employee relations issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution, including by coaching managers on effective management practices. • Assist with annual compensation review process. • Assure Company compliance with all federal, state and local employment and benefits laws. • Play key role in the creation and on-going management of employment contracts. • Supervise terminations and exiting for all employees, including conducting exit interviews, preparing and processing termination paperwork, retrieving company property, and handling claims for unemployment benefits. • Nurture a positive working environment. • Partner with Human Resources colleagues in the New York office on various projects and assignments. • Perform additional duties as assigned. • Responsible for 2 nearby worksites. Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, proven experience with full-cycle HR functions. • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). • Experience using ADP and ABI databases preferred. • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally. • High level of organization and attention to detail, with an ability to multi-task. • Proven leadership ability, including prior experience managing staff. • Experience administering 401(K)/pension plans a bonus. • Flexible work schedule. • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
