Assist with real estate legal matters including leasing, litigation, and landlord/tenant issues, working closely with the General Counsel.
3+ years of legal experience, litigation skills, and familiarity with real estate law preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
We are an established real estate owner/management company in business for 90+ years with properties in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Scarsdale and the Bronx. Candidates MUST have litigation experience. Commercial leasing experience is also a huge plus. Candidates must be self-driven, reliable, willing to learn and be resourceful. Strong computer skills, outstanding research skills, excellent writing skills and strong communication skills are a must. This is an incredible opportunity for an extremely organized individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking, the ability to time manage and transition from task to task with ease. Day to day duties will include, working hand-in-hand with our General Counsel and legal team on all real estate matters, including but not limited leasing, litigations, Landlord/Tenant, admin law, compliance, and beyond. Not for faint-hearted but for someone highly motivated with serious designs on a current and future career in real estate management. Requirements, Knowledge & Experience: • 3+ years of related experience is required • Energetic, Personable& able to prioritize assigned duties • Strong literacy in MS computer programs • Fluent in a second language is a HUGE PLUS • Experience in the following areas are also a HUGE plus: Commercial Leasing, L&T, Transactional, Litigation, general Real Estate • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously • Must be organized, politely persistent, self-motivated, team player, can handle a fast paced environment, and eager to get involved and learn; • Excellent communication skills (written reports/analysis and oral presentation).
