Overview The Operations Efficiency Product Manager represents the voice of the customer and sales in the development process, filling a critical role between the customers, sales, and development teams. The Product Manager advocates for efficiency in the development process while still delivering the critical needs and value propositions for customers and sales teams. The Operations Efficiency Product Manager must become familiar with the market positioning of the businesses’ products and an associated training needs for the businesses’ target customers and markets. They will be responsible for building a solutions roadmap for a unified production capability that streamlines imagery, lidar and data analysis product creation for the Energy, Defense and Civilian Government markets. They will be responsible for inspiring and aligning development teams, answering questions such as: what are we doing? why are we doing it? what’s the impact for the business? The Operations Efficiency PM will specialize in understanding and capturing the voice of internal customers who are leveraging the unified production systems to deliver value for the business. This includes understanding how data products work together, best practices across centers of excellence, a wide range of tool capabilities and the long term vision of the operations leadership. Responsibilities Communicates with customers, new prospects and team to define workflows for specific product implementation Develops and champions product vision, product strategy and roadmap for the internal product lines in support of business goals Working with business leadership, owns product roadmap to meet market requirements in support of product strategy by considering position in life cycle, product profitability, client satisfaction and sales success rate Develops and maintains the product backlog in Jira Communicates product vision to Sales and business leadership as necessary Collaborates with Engineering Leadership and Engineering Product Lead and any 3rd party partner development teams in the development of product plans, schedules, functional specifications, etc. to ensure the product meets customer/market needs Works with Marketing Communications and Sales to develop and execute product marketing plans for product line Participates in customer visits, trade shows, seminars and other marketing events This role will require approximately one week of travel every quarter Travel is needed in an as required basis to the NGA, as a part of customer requirements Travel is not limited to the NGA and may require applicant to travel to other customer locations as required Evaluates ideas for new products, investigates market viability and effect on market of present products, and recommends economically attractive products Gathers market intelligence so that market opportunities may be capitalized on as they occur and the effects of competitive activity are minimized Supports direct and in-direct sales networks with internal product training, and other items, as needed Representation of current product positioning in the Intelligence Community as a Market: Where are Licenses being actively used today across the IC? What is the role of the people? What do they actually DO with the product on a daily basis? Qualifications Required Skills Bachelors Degree in Business, Geography, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent Minimum 2-4 years experience in a product owner or product management role Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to intended audience Demonstrated experience working in an agile development environment Demonstrated experience managing project to budget and schedule constraints Preferred Qualifications Experience working with spatial data including raster, vector and 3D point clouds Ability to work core hours in Pacific or Mountain Time Zones Demonstrated experience leading software development for internal users Experience using Jira to manage a team’s backlog Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
