-----------------------ONLY W2------------------------------ONLY W2-----------------------------ONLY W2----------------- • *************************Candidates must reside (Maryland, DC, Virginia) **************************** Title: Java Full Stack Developer Location: Washington, DC 20065 Duration: 12 Months Contract to Hire Job Description: Terms of Employment: W2 Contract-to-Permanent, 12 Months This is a primarily remote position. With that said, candidates must reside (Maryland, DC, Virginia) a commutable distance to Reston, VA to consider PI planning sessions once every 8-to-12 weeks. There will also be other key business meetings from time to time at either the DC or Reston, VA office. Overview & Responsibilities: Join a leading healthcare organization as a Senior Software Engineer on a high-impact, strategic project. You will be a key member of a team tasked with modernizing a core claims processing application, moving it to a state-of-the-art AWS technology stack. This is a chance to build a new, business-critical system and work with the latest versions of Java and Angular. You will Perform full-stack application development using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Angular. Design, develop, and interact with backend databases, primarily Aurora Postgres and MongoDB. Build, deploy, and manage applications within the AWS cloud, with a focus on containerization and orchestration using EKS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile environment. Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle for a brand-new application modernization project. Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer. Must have professional, hands-on experience with Java 21. Strong proficiency in front-end development using Angular 18. A minimum of three years of extensive, hands-on AWS experience, including services like EKS, S3, and Aurora. In-depth experience with Spring Boot and building microservices. Strong experience with relational databases, specifically Postgres (Aurora Postgres is ideal). Experience working in an Agile development environment. A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or 9+ years of total professional experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB. AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solution Architect. Prior experience in the healthcare or financial industries.
