NPO Lifeline is seeking a motivated college student to support the marketing, promotion, and operations of a new, nonprofit-focused Job Board. This remote internship offers hands-on experience in marketing, outreach, and audience growth for an initiative that supports nonprofit organizations nationwide. This marketing internship role is unpaid and offered for college credit only, with flexible hours, portfolio-building projects, and weekly mentorship. • This internship is unpaid and for college credit only • Consideration will be given to students currently enrolled in a college or university and eligible to receive academic credit; applicants must have an understanding of what expectations or paperwork their academic program requires to complete this internship. Location: Remote (must be located in the U.S.) About NPO Lifeline: NPO Lifeline supports nonprofits through fundraising strategy, communications, and practical resources during times of change. One of our growing initiatives is a nonprofit-focused Job Board designed to help organizations promote open roles and connect with talent across the country. Internship Overview: This internship is ideal for a student interested in marketing, communications, nonprofits, or entrepreneurship. The intern will focus on promoting and increasing awareness of NPO Lifeline’s Job Board through digital marketing, outreach, and content support. You’ll gain hands-on experience working on a new business initiative while learning how a small business grows and tests new ideas. Responsibilities: Marketing & Promotion • Draft and schedule short promotional content for the Job Board (primarily LinkedIn) • Support regular promotion of the Job Board and featured opportunities • Assist with website updates related to the Job Board Outreach & Growth Support • Research nonprofit organizations and networks that may benefit from the Job Board • Support outreach to nonprofits about posting opportunities (using templates) and/or connecting with nonprofit organizations • Help brainstorm and test ideas to increase visibility and engagement Tracking & Collaboration • Track basic engagement metrics (post reach, inquiries, listings added) • Track the timing of job board posts and nonprofit communications • Participate in virtual internal team meetings as scheduled • Collaborate closely with the team on marketing and growth efforts Learning Outcomes: By the end of the internship, the student will: • Gain experience promoting a digital job board and audience-facing product • Develop skills in marketing, outreach, and content planning • Learn how small businesses grow and test revenue-generating initiatives • Strengthen professional communication and project management skills • Build portfolio-ready marketing and promotional samples Outcomes may be revised based on college/university requirements Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in a college or university and eligible to receive academic credit • Interest in marketing, communications, nonprofits, or business growth • Comfortable drafting short written content and conducting light research • Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines • Familiarity with LinkedIn and digital tools (or willingness to learn) • Applicants must have some type of marketing, outreach, or social media content creation experience. You may be asked to share samples of your work. Commitment & Timeline: 5–10 hours per week (1-2 hours per weekday), flexible schedule, for the current academic semester.
