Job Description Property Damage Litigation Attorney Position Summary An established and growing Colorado law firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated attorney with significant experience in first-party homeowner property claims to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in representing policyholders in disputes with insurance carriers and a deep commitment to protecting the rights of homeowners. This role requires a proven track record of success in handling claims involving hail, wind, fire, water damage, and other property-related perils. The attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, litigating complex coverage issues, and pursuing favorable outcomes for clients throughout Colorado. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS: • Full-time • 2+ years of litigation experience - First Party Property Damage experience is a plus • Member of the Illinois Bar and in good standing • Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution. • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis. • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents. • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives. • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration. • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed. • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies. • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys. • Stay abreast of developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims.
