Advanced degrees in chemistry, physics, math, or manufacturing process control, extensive industry experience in process measurements, expertise in chemometric modeling, and strong communication skills.
Required: Advanced degree in chemistry, physics, math or manufacturing process control Experience across multiple industries for real-time process measurements including: • Pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing (primary and secondary) • Food and Beverage production and packaging • Oil and gas production, including downstream processing, blending and transportation; biofuels Expertise in chemometric model development across industries including • Model development • Model maintenance, model transfer • Customer liaison Familiarity with various industry standards such as • USP, EMEA for pharmaceutical • ASME standards for oil and gas • Sanitary standards for food and beverage • Hazardous area requirements and implementation Excellent understanding of spectrometer operation including • Fluency in several spectrometer data acquisition software platforms • Baseline/background measurements • Parameters effecting wavelength accuracy, photometric accuracy and noise in spectra and how to optimize • Types and operating methods of various spectrometers • Types and operating methods of various light sources Advanced fluency in chemometric modeling • Fluent in multiple modeling packages Excellent communication skills • English fluency required • Ability to create customer facing documentation and reports • Support sales activities • Fluent in all Microsoft office applications General laboratory skills • Benchtop/lab measurements as required for proof of concept or model development • Ability to travel to customer sites Other desirable skills • Fluency in reading/reviewing mechanical engineering drawings • Basic electrical engineering familiarity • Basic software/firmware familiarity; ability to write software specifications • Communication protocols and interfaces for plant control systems • Understanding of quality control systems for document and drawing management and control • Demonstrated ability to write and submit successful grant applications
