Full Description

Nova Eye Care Center, LLC in Alexandria, VA is looking for a part-time or full-time optometric or ophthalmic technician to join our fun small team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is compassionate and wants to build relationships with our patients, pays special attention to detail, is outgoing, punctual, and reliable. Responsibilities • Perform Pre-test screenings on patients for the doctor • Enter data into the electronic medical record, ensuring the EMR is complete and accurate. • Gather and document clinical information from other current or historical records under the direction of the provider. • Perform other duties that improve the efficiency of the provider such as, assisting with medication reconciliation, documenting procedures, and providing communication assistance (message to other providers, scanning, printing, or copying medical records). • Assist patients with frame selection & styling, and give advice to patients on the best lens options based on the patient's lifestyles and needs. • Submit orders electronically, check the quality of glasses made, and bill insurance for orders. • Maintain inventory via an online ordering system. • Establish and maintain excellent customer service by providing prompt, courteous, and professional service. • Schedule appointments, and collect necessary patient information. • Keep the office clean and presentable • Verify patient's insurance eligibility • Be willing to be cross-trained in other areas of optometry to improve office efficiency and take on additional tasks as needed. Qualifications • 6 months of experience in an optometrist or ophthalmologist's office is a plus but not required. • Qualified candidates will need to be comfortable in a role that is diverse, and has strong multi-tasking and computer skills.
