Role Overview: As a Vendor Manager at Northwestern Mutual, you will lead vendor performance and relationship management to ensure seamless collaboration and operational efficiency. You will provide processes, guidance, and oversight to internal teams while facilitating governance with external partners, playing a critical role in vendor onboarding and ongoing management. What You'll Do: - You will lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring compliance and alignment with company standards. - You will manage vendor relationships to optimize performance and mitigate risks. - You will develop and implement vendor management processes and best practices. - You will collaborate with operational teams to provide guidance and support on vendor-related issues. - You will facilitate governance meetings and ensure adherence to contractual obligations. - You will monitor vendor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives. - You will coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve vendor-related challenges promptly. - You will maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to vendor activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management or related fields. - Strong knowledge of vendor onboarding, contract management, and performance evaluation. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficiency with vendor management software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the financial services industry. - Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management frameworks. - Project management certification (PMP or equivalent). - Experience working in a remote or hybrid work environment.
