About the Role: The High School Algebra Teacher plays a critical role in shaping students' understanding and appreciation of mathematics, specifically algebra. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive algebra instruction that aligns with curriculum standards and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The teacher will create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and encourages student participation. Ultimately, the High School Algebra Teacher contributes to the overall academic success and confidence of students in their mathematical abilities. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. * Valid teaching certification or license for secondary education in the relevant jurisdiction. * Demonstrated knowledge of algebra curriculum and instructional strategies. * Experience working with high school students in an educational setting. * Strong communication and classroom management skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Master’s degree in Mathematics Education or a related discipline. * Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) math courses or dual-credit courses. * Experience integrating technology into math instruction, such as using graphing calculators or educational software. * Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques to support diverse learners. * Previous experience in curriculum development or academic coaching. * Professional development or training in culturally responsive teaching practices. Responsibilities: * Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and address the needs of all students. * Deliver clear and effective instruction in algebra concepts including expressions, equations, functions, and inequalities. * Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects, and provide timely feedback. * Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports. * Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student development and address any academic or behavioral concerns. * Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding. * Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a growth mindset. * Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mathematics instruction and pedagogy. * Participate in school events, committees, and initiatives to contribute to the broader school culture.
