## Mechanical Design Engineer / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer — Oklahoma City, OK Relocation assistance may be available. CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes (CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret). TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time. At Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, we are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 3) to join the Engineering Design Center and Lab Operations within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Oklahoma City and Tinker Air Force Base, OK. You will help develop custom testing solutions and specialized support equipment for the B-2 Stealth Bomber and other platforms, working closely with a multi-discipline engineering team in a laboratory environment. You will be involved in the development and integration of mechanical designs with a focus on first-time quality and engineering rigor. Typical work includes development of 3D CAD models, detailed part, assembly and integration drawings, and coordination of mechanical designs through procurement and manufacturing. You will liaison electrical design integration and assembly, lead and coordinate hardware integration in a laboratory environment, develop documentation to support designs and product lifecycle management, and support troubleshooting and system verification in a lab setting. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people. ### This requisition may be filled at a Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 2) OR Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 3) level based on the qualifications below. Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 2): - Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience. - Must have an active Do. D Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business need. - Must have experience developing mechanical designs using tools such as CATIA V5, Solid. Works, NX, Auto. CAD, or similar design software tools. Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 3): - Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience. - Must have an active Do. D Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business need. - Must have experience developing mechanical designs using tools such as CATIA V5, Solid. Works, NX, Auto. CAD, or similar design software tools. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, professional experience in aerospace and defense, Active Top Secret clearance, Active Program access, mechanical design experience using CATIA V5, experience with PLM systems, experience in Additive Manufacturing or 3D print design and technologies, hardware integration experience in a laboratory environment, and demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities. Primary Level Salary Range: $68,200.00 - $102,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $84,700.00 - $127,100.00 The above salary ranges represent general guidelines; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
