About the Opportunity The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University invites applications for the position of Director of Computing Programs and Associate/Full Teaching Professor beginning July or September 2026 at our campus in Oakland, CA. At least three years of relevant experience is required for appointment at the Associate level, and at least six years for Full Professor. Khoury Oakland faculty are externally known for Human-Centered Computing research including the areas of Visualization and Usable and Safe AI. The Khoury Oakland student population is predominantly undergraduate with growing cohorts of Masters and PhD students. Khoury students work with faculty on research projects in partnership with local government, national labs and technology companies. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate for the Director and Associate/Full Teaching Professor role will be able to combine demonstrated administrative experience and strong leadership skills to create a strategic vision for growth of innovative and impactful programs in the region. The Director and Associate/Full Teaching Professor will be responsible for the following: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and related fields; supervising teaching faculty; mentoring researchers in their field; performing service to the college, university, and discipline; overseeing the operational and academic functions of Khoury programs on the campus, including faculty mentoring, budgeting, and collaboration with staff that provide academic advising, co-curricular programming, and career services support as well as the faculty and staff of other colleges in support of regional programs and goals. The Director and Associate/Full Teaching Professor will work closely with dean-level college leadership and directors of other Northeastern University regional campuses to ensure equitable delivery of high-quality programming in Oakland. The Director and Associate/Full Teaching Professor will serve as an essential liaison between the regional campus leadership and the College, and will work closely with the campus, the College, and College faculty and staff at the campus to strategize and lead the vision for the College’s presence in Oakland. Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution by the employment start date. At least three years of relevant experience is required for appointment at the Associate level, and at least six years for Full Professor. Pay Range: Associate Teaching Professor: $171,000 - $197,000 | Teaching Professor: $188,000 - $216,000 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
