About the Role: Patient Care Technician (PCT) Academy Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) Make a Difference Every Day At NGHS, we believe every team member plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) , you'll provide hands-on support to patients and nursing staff, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Whether you're assisting with daily activities, transporting patients, or stocking supplies, your work directly impacts the comfort and well-being of those we serve. What You'll Do • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse • Assist with vital signs, mobility, hygiene, and comfort needs • Support nursing units by cleaning, stocking, and preparing patient rooms • Transport patients safely and efficiently between units • Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team • Contribute to patient safety by following infection control and hand hygiene policies Qualifications Minimum Requirements • High School Diploma, GED, or completion of at least sophomore year of high school • No prior experience required -- NGHS offers PCT Academy , our in-house training program, for candidates without CNA certification or recent PCT experience Preferred • CNA certification or prior patient care experience • Bilingual language skills PCT Academy: Your Pathway to Growth We're here to be your partner in growth. Training • Multiple cohorts each year • Five-week training program • Combination of classroom learning, on-the-job training, and unit orientation Support • Participants are hired directly into a PCT position • Full-time and part-time benefited positions available from day one • Paid training hours each week Eligibility • Age 16 or older • Part-time employees must be available to work full-time hours during the five-week training program Why Join NGHS?
