They use their expertise with data modeling across multiple database structures to interface with the client to solve complex problems using analytics and deliver insights that help the organization achieve strategic goals. They are responsible for leading complex projects and processes across multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate timely, efficient and accurate data solutions. The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for mentoring a team of Data Analysts to support, advise and coach on data standards, best practices, and growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities Manages, mentors and coaches a team of Data Analysts on data standards and best practices with timely escalation of performance concerns and growth opportunities for mentees to the Data Analytics Manager Responsible for identifying, understanding, acquiring, merging, and transforming data from a centralized data warehouse Partners with business unit teams to understand their operational needs, recommend solutions, assure compliance with standards Translates data needs of the business and work with data engineers or architects to build processes and tools that help automate effective data delivery and reduce resource utilization and redundancy Actively participates in data warehousing design and strategy discussions Participates in upgrade planning and implementation. Conducts impact analysis with regard to impending changes Engages in the overall data governance of the organization and take an active role in the development, documentation, and on-going maintenance of a data governance operation Develops effective auditing and validation processes between the source systems and the centralized data warehouse to assure accurate and timely availability of data Develops, tests, and delivers reports and extracts from the centralized data warehouse using appropriate BI tools Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo Fosters a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions Hands on and engaged in coding to help the team to develop his / her solution and solve all surfacing problems at hand Leads complex projects and processes across multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate timely, efficient and accurate data solutions Skills and Experience BI tools (Tableau or Power BI) Basic understanding of statistics Attention to detail Critical thinking Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders Translation of complex technical concepts Ability to lead complex projects across a multi-disciplinary team Agile work process Data warehousing concepts Minimum Years of Experience Generally requires Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred) and 12+ years as a data analyst, with progressive responsibility and a proven track record leading development or 14+ years of experience in lieu of a degree 7+ years of experience with multidimensional data structures, advanced analytics, data infrastructure design or report writing tools (required) 7+ years of experience with at least one of the following: SQL scripting/coding, Business Intelligence, ETL or data modeling (required) 5+ years of experience working in Data Analyst role at a healthcare provider (preferred) Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Population Health, Healthcare business-related, and or Operational business Data Analytics experience EPIC Clarity Certification, including at least one data model (required) EPIC Cogito Certification (required) EPIC Cogito Project Manager Certification (preferred) Microsoft Databricks Certification (preferred) Tableau Certification (preferred) Power BI Certification (preferred) Azure DevOps Experience (preferred) Additional details Travel to support business objectives as needed.
