We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Construction Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for a large, multi-phase mixed-use development owned and developed by one of Chicago’s most active and recognized private residential developers. The project includes multiple mid-rise apartment buildings, townhomes, structured parking, commercial space, and extensive civils and amenities—requiring a superintendent who has experience but is still hungry to learn, grow, and take responsibility of a major site. ABOUT THE PROJECT The project includes: • Four multi-story apartment buildings (4–6 stories with podium parking) • 24 three-story townhomes • Amenity spaces including pool, plazas, fitness areas, community rooms • Structured and surface parking, loading areas, site utilities, stormwater vaults, and extensive civil work • 6,000 SF commercial/restaurant space • Major landscape installations including plazas, greenspaces, pedestrian circulation, and lighting systems Work will be executed across three coordinated phases, each requiring strong sequencing, subcontractor supervision, and proactive schedule control. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Site Operations • Manage day-to-day field activities and jobsite organization • Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to scope and sequencing • Maintain safety compliance, including toolbox talks and site inspections • Coordinate access, deliveries, staging, and material storage • Maintain daily logs, photos, and progress documentation Quality Assurance & Documentation • Verify installation per plans, specifications, and shop drawings • Perform daily quality checks and generate punch lists as needed • Identify issues early and recommend corrective actions • Support RFI and submittal clarification processes Scheduling & Coordination • Assist in development and maintenance of project schedule • Lead daily/weekly trade coordination meetings • Coordinate inspections, utility connections, and testing • Monitor manpower levels and progress across all phases Communication • Serve as the primary on-site representative to subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors • Provide clear communication, daily reports and progress updates to the Project Manager and ownership • Address neighbor, municipal, and public concerns professionally IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE We are looking for someone who is: Experienced enough to run the day—but young, hungry, and eager to level up. • Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of field construction experience (assistant superintendent, carpenter foreman, field engineer, or rising superintendent). Strong communicator & natural problem solver • Able to get ahead of issues, coordinate complex site logistics, and keep subcontractors aligned. Comfortable with multi-building, multi-phase environments • Experience with podium construction, multifamily, commercial mixed-use, or civil-heavy sites is a plus.
