A Technical Project Manager (TPM) is a professional who manages and oversees technology-focused projects. They have a strong understanding of technical concepts, which allows them to effectively bridge the gap between technical teams (like software developers or engineers) and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Create detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional technical teams. Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are met. • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and challenges in a clear, non-technical manner. • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential technical risks and issues, and develop strategies to mitigate them. • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical roadblocks and challenges to keep the project on track. Required Skills • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of software development, IT technical domains. • Project Management Methodologies: Proficiency in project management frameworks like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams. • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Education and Experience • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. • Experience in a technical role (e.g., developer, engineer) is often preferred. • Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).
