TO BE CONSIDERED: • PDIS Level 2 Certification (not just hours) • Minimum of 2 years of preschool experience • Qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) Ninabees, a nurturing and innovative nature-based preschool, is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our dedicated team. We believe that every child has their own unique developmental journey, and our staff is committed to honoring the whole child through a Reggio Emilia-inspired and play-based approach. We foster a welcoming environment where all families and children are invited to "come as they are," celebrating their individuality. At Ninabees, we're known for co-regulating with children, embracing messy fun, and integrating rich sensory and real-life lessons into our daily curriculum. About the Role: As a Lead Teacher at Ninabees, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and supportive classroom environment for children aged 4-5 years old. You will guide engaging, play-based activities, facilitate outdoor exploration, and foster the social-emotional development of each child. Our low student-to-teacher ratio of 3:14 ensures that you can provide individualized attention and truly connect with every child. Responsibilities: • Design and implement a Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based curriculum that promotes inquiry, discovery, and active learning. • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment for children aged 4-5 years old. • Foster strong social-emotional development through intentional interactions, co-regulation techniques, and responsive care. • Facilitate engaging outdoor experiences and nature-based exploration. • Integrate sensory experiences and real-life lessons into daily activities. • Observe and document children's progress, adapting activities to meet individual needs and developmental stages. • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents, fostering a strong home-school connection. • Maintain classroom organization and ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and school policies. • Collaborate with co-teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. • Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 year of direct classroom experience as a lead teacher in a preschool setting. • Possession of an Essential PDIS Level 2 Qualification or equivalent credits from core Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses • Deep understanding and passion for nature-based and play-based learning approaches. • Familiarity with or willingness to learn and implement Reggio Emilia-inspired principles. • Demonstrated ability to foster social-emotional development in young children, including co-regulation strategies. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). • Ability to lift and carry children as needed, and to navigate a dynamic classroom and outdoor environment.
