THE OPPORTUNITY: NGEN is rapidly scaling its global supply chain to support the delivery of high-value power and thermal infrastructure to customers across the United States. We’re building a world class, white glove logistics function from the ground up and looking for a Global Trade & Logistics Manager who can own the international movement of goods, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and develop the systems that will power our next phase of growth. In this role, you’ll take full command of our import operations from international freight and customs clearance to tariff strategy, duty optimization, and compliance planning. You’ll be the link between our manufacturing partners, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring every shipment moves with precision, speed, and zero surprises. You’ll negotiate freight and brokerage relationships, monitor shifting trade policies, and develop reporting that keep us ahead of cost, compliance, and timing challenges. YOUR MISSION: • Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound international shipments involving power and thermal equipment, customs clearance, warehousing, and final distribution to U.S. customers • Coordinate with OEM suppliers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and warehouse partners to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of high-value equipment • Negotiate rates and service agreements with ocean, air, and forwarding partners to optimize both cost and service performance • Build and maintain accurate freight cost models and landed-cost forecasts to support procurement, sales, and pricing decisions • Manage customs brokerage partners and ensure full compliance across tariff classification (HTSUS), duty calculations, import regulations, and all applicable trade laws • Manage and communicate with U.S Customs & Border Protection and other governmental departments to resolve import issues. Create response to CF28, CF29, and other requests • Lead strategic trade and tariff planning efforts, continuously tracking regulatory changes and translating them into proactive cost and logistics strategies • Monitor inbound shipment status and keep Project Delivery, Field Operations, and Sales teams informed to maintain strong on-time, in-full performance • Own core compliance workflows including product classification and import documentation • Prepare and maintain trade documentation for audits, regulatory requests, and post-entry actions • Develop and standardize SOPs, workflows, and training materials to strengthen operational consistency and compliance maturity • Partner with Finance, Compliance & Risk, and Supply Chain teams to embed trade compliance best practices across the organization • Provide hands-on operational support to keep daily logistics and compliance activities running smoothly YOU’LL WIN US OVER WITH THIS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: • You have 5+ years’ experience managing international logistics operations and trade compliance programs for complex supply chains • You have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field. APICS CLTD certification or an advanced degree is a plus • You have experience moving complex, high-value industrial products - think heavy electrical gear, power distribution equipment, aerospace components, or automotive/transportation systems. You understand the special handling, crating, and compliance requirements that come with them • You bring a strong technical foundation in global trade with an emphasis on China origin equipment • You understand HTS classifications and how to keep import and export documentation airtight • You’ve partnered closely with customs brokers and know how to navigate entries, audits, inquiries, and post-entry corrections without breaking a sweat • You’re financially fluent. You understand landed cost models, duty optimization, tariff exposure, and how logistics decisions impact margin and delivery timelines • You have a proven ability to build freight and compliance strategies that reduce cost, mitigate risk, and keep shipments moving • You’re comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high stakes environment where processes are still being created and you help shape how things get done • Experience with NetSuite/ERP and logistics/freight management software is preferred • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge is an asset • A Licensed Customs Broker credential or Certified Customs Specialist certification is a bonus WHO YOU ARE: • You think like an operator and take full ownership of holistic logistics execution • You take a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens, and relying on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment when making decisions • You're a strong negotiator who knows how to build relationships with 3PLs and service providers while driving cost efficiency • You stay calm under pressure and excel at troubleshooting when shipments face delays, customs holds, or unexpected challenges • You are detail driven and compliance focused, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks when it comes to customs documentation and regulatory requirements • You communicate clearly and keep internal stakeholders informed without being prompted • You're adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment • You're excited by the opportunity to build logistics systems and processes from the ground up as NGEN scales COMPENSATION PACKAGE: • Base salary of $115,000 - $135,000 USD • The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and relevant skills • Bonus structure of up to 25% of your base salary, based on performance • 401k match of up to 5% of your base salary • Access to health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your dependents: • Four health plans to choose from, ranging from high-deductible to low-deductible plans • Employer-paid premiums ranging from 80%-100% paid, dependent on the plan you select • Access to Kindbody services and their network, including coaching sessions • Three weeks of paid vacation • Five paid personal days • Home office set-up support • Remote working environment with flexibility and autonomy RECRUITMENT PROCESS & TIMELINES: We’re so excited that you are interested in joining our team!
