Job Title: General Legal Counsel (Part-Time / Contract) Location: Palm Beach County & Broward County, FL (Hybrid / As-Needed) Company Overview: We are a growing small business providing DUI services, substance abuse counseling, and related support programs throughout Palm Beach and Broward County. We are seeking a dependable, practical, and business-minded legal professional to serve as ongoing general counsel and provide guidance on operational, compliance, and risk matters throughout the year. This role is ideal for a newly licensed attorney looking to build experience, or a semi-retired legal professional seeking flexible, part-time work. Position Summary: The General Legal Counsel will provide ongoing legal support for business operations, regulatory compliance, contracts, and risk management. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and be available on an as-needed basis for consultations, document review, and occasional representation coordination. Key Responsibilities: • Provide general legal guidance for day-to-day business operations • Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and policies • Advise on regulatory compliance related to DUI services, substance abuse programs, and related services • Support licensing, risk management, and liability mitigation efforts • Review HR-related documentation and advise on employment matters when needed • Coordinate with external counsel for litigation or specialized legal issues if required • Assist with business structuring, expansion, and operational compliance across Palm Beach and Broward County Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida (required) • 0–5 years of experience, or semi-retired attorney seeking part-time engagement • Experience or interest in healthcare, behavioral health, DUI programs, compliance, or small business law preferred • Strong contract drafting and review skills • Practical, solutions-focused approach to legal matters • Ability to work independently and respond in a timely manner Work Structure & Compensation: • Part-time / contract / retainer-based arrangement • Flexible schedule; work performed as needed throughout the year • Combination of remote and occasional in-person meetings • Compensation commensurate with experience (hourly or monthly retainer) Ideal Candidate: • Seeking to gain hands-on business legal experience, or • Semi-retired professional looking for meaningful, flexible legal work • Responsive, dependable, and comfortable advising small business leadership To Apply: Please submit your resume, a brief summary of relevant experience, and your preferred compensation structure (hourly or retainer).
