Lead and mentor accounting team while managing client accounting services including reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required, 10+ years accounting experience with client services and leadership, proficiency in QBO, and ability to work US hours remotely.
Position Summary: We’re looking to hire a US-Based Senior Manager, Accounting Services on a part time basis (30 hours a week). This position combines hands-on accounting execution with the leadership and management of accounting professionals, ensuring the delivery of superior client service. The Senior Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for multiple clients — many of whom operate in the financial services industry, including funds — and will bring a deep technical understanding of accounting, strong problem-solving skills, and expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This is not a purely oversight role. The ideal candidate leads from the front — reviewing reconciliations, resolving accounting challenges, and modeling excellence for the team. You’ll partner with NextKey leadership to deliver client results, support team development, and elevate our systems and processes as we continue to grow. Key Responsibilities: • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, promoting accountability, curiosity, and a commitment to quality. • Serve as the primary client liaison for assigned engagements, building strong relationships and ensuring client needs are met with precision and care. • Actively engage in accounting execution: reviewing and preparing reconciliations, addressing complex transactions, and ensuring accuracy across all deliverables. • Oversee and refine month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across multiple clients. • Direct general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance activities in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements. • Use QBO and related financial tools to manage data integrity, reporting, and financial projections. • Identify and implement improvements to internal workflows and controls that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. • Provide strategic financial insights to clients, translating data into decisions that drive business performance. • Collaborate with auditors, consultants, and external providers to deliver seamless client support. • Model proactive communication and problem-solving in all client and team interactions. Key Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA required. · 10+ years of extensive accounting experience, with a focus on client services and team leadership. · Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential, other accounting and reporting systems are a bonus. · Proven ability to balance leadership and hands-on work — someone who enjoys getting into the details while keeping a strategic view. · Must be available to work US Hours (Eastern or Central Time) to align with company and client schedules. · Possess reliable equipment for remote work, with potential for upgrades post-trial period based on performance. · Experience in a remote work environment preferred, showcasing effective virtual team management and client engagement. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in financial services or fund accounting, with the ability to navigate complex financial structures. · Prior experience in a consulting or advisory environment. · Demonstrated success leading remote teams and fostering strong collaboration virtually. Compensation & Hours Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 per year Expected hours: 30 hours per week (Eastern or Central business hours). Job Types: Part-time, Contract Projected Total Compensation: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Work Location: Remote
