Junior Video Editor (Content Operations Intern) Company: NextGen Coding Company Type: Internship / Apprenticeship (Remote) Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week Compensation: Unpaid or stipend-based (experience + portfolio) Reporting To: Lead Content Editor Role Overview NextGen Coding Company is seeking a Junior Video Editor (Intern) to support our content operations team. This role focuses on mechanical video editing tasks, helping transform long-form founder recordings into short-form clips for social platforms. This is not a creative director role. The intern will work under strict guidelines and submit all work for review by a senior editor before publishing. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience editing enterprise, B2B, operator-focused content and building a real portfolio. Core Responsibilities • Cut long-form video recordings into short-form segments (45–90 seconds) • Remove dead air, filler words, and long pauses • Generate clean rough cuts for review • Flag strong moments with timestamps • Create basic subtitle files (SRT or burned-in captions) • Export clips in required formats (vertical 9:16 primarily) • Organize files using provided folder structure • Follow exact editing and brand instructions What You Will Not Do • Choose which clips get posted • Decide hooks, captions, or CTAs • Add music, emojis, or B-roll • Post content to any platform • Edit client-identifiable or sensitive material • Make creative or strategic decisions All final decisions are made by the Lead Editor. Required Skills • Basic proficiency in video editing software (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar) • Ability to follow detailed instructions exactly • Strong attention to detail • Comfort working with long-form talking-head video • Ability to hit deadlines consistently Nice to Have (Not Required) • Experience editing podcasts or interview-style content • Familiarity with subtitles and vertical video formats • Interest in B2B, enterprise, or tech content What You’ll Gain • Real-world experience editing founder-led enterprise content • Portfolio-ready work • Direct mentorship from a senior editor • Exposure to high-level business and operations discussions • Clear feedback loops and defined scope (no guessing)
