Join our team and make a lasting impact. As an IT Team Lead - PowerSchool at New Story, you will own and lead our Student Information System (SIS) environment and related enterprise applications. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for PowerSchool and associated tools, combining hands-on system administration with team leadership and user support. You’ll guide a team of Application Support Analysts, drive system improvements, and ensure our SIS is reliable, secure, and optimized to support school operations and data integrity. Working closely with the Applications Manager, you’ll help manage system enhancements, capacity, and risks while delivering high-quality solutions that serve educators and operational teams across the organization. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience administering and supporting enterprise-wide applications, preferably in an education or SIS environment. Experience supervising technical staff or managing a multi-technician helpdesk, including workload and ticket oversight. Strong technical skills including SQL, enterprise reporting, HTML customization, and an understanding of database design and data structures. Ability to support applications with critical downstream integrations such as billing systems, data warehouses, or other connected platforms. Experience administering PowerSchool modules (Special Programs, Enrollment, Performance Matters), School Messenger, and Origami. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.: What You’ll Do Serve as the primary system administrator for PowerSchool, PowerTeacher Pro, School Messenger, and related SIS tools, managing configuration, workflows, permissions, reports, and customizations. Lead and supervise Application Support Analysts, including workload management, coaching, performance reviews, and monitoring ticket volumes, SLAs, and service quality. Manage SIS operations and releases, including maintaining test environments, coordinating release testing, executing recurring system tasks (e.g., year-end rollover), and preparing training materials. Provide escalated user support and training, serving as the point of contact for complex issues and delivering system training across the organization. Drive continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement by managing enhancement backlogs, conducting system check-ins with school leaders, and partnering with IT, BI, and Operations teams to ensure data integrity and alignment. Coordinate with vendors supporting PowerSchool and related tools, managing support tickets and escalating systemic issues to the Applications Manager.
